  2. Kia ora Amber,
You sure have been finding plenty of ways to keep yourself entertained during this lockdown period! Planting some vegetables is not only a great way to occupy some spare time, but it is also a fantastic new skill to learn!
When I was 10 years old, all I wanted for my birthday was a vegetable garden. I was lucky enough to actually get one, and I spent the entire day filling a massive metal vegetable garden with dirt and fertilizer. I ended up planting lots of different things in my garden, from tomatoes and sweet corn to carrots, but the only thing that grew well were the sweet potatoes I had planted.
I grew up in Australia, and our house backed directly onto a bush. We had kangaroos who would come out of the bush and hop all over my vegetable garden, meaning that all of my crops got squashed! It wasn’t until I was removing all of the squished plants from my garden that I realised the sweet potatoes had still managed to grow, and I got a very large container filled with the yummy vegetable!
What vegetables did you plant in your garden?
Do you have a favourite vegetable? If so, what is it and why is it your favourite?
How long will it be until your first vegetable is ready?
It would be awesome if you could reply to this comment and let me know!
    Nga mihi
